Mine
I have a sweet, smart, beautiful dog that I absolutely love. But do you know why I really love Sugar? It's not because she's sweet, smart, beautiful, or just the right size. And I wouldn't love her more if she wouldn't go bolting off where she's not supposed to go every time she gets the chance, just like I don't love her any less because she does. I love her because she is mine. Just because she's my very own. Every time I look at her, my heart is filled with love. Now, if I feel that way about my dog, I can only imagine how much more God feels that way about me!!! He doesn't love me for anything I do or don't do, He just loves me because I'm His. When I look at my life, and see all the broken pieces and the sin and the failures and I wonder--how could He love me? Why would He love me? He whispers soft and low....

Your Way
I have come so far, but still there is so far to go.
Lead me, guide me, I willingly follow.
I need You more each passing day.
Stay by my side forever I pray.
Lord, please show me the path where I belong.
Help me keep from doing sin and wrong.
Lord, I pray that You take my hand
And walk me through when I don’t understand.
For in Your light all things are true.
Life was dark and desperate without You.
Now You walk by my side
And in Your Word I will abide.
Lead me; guide me to find Your Way.
Stay by my side forever I pray.

Meet the Heart Writers!
Y'all may have noticed the new post that came through yesterday from my good friend, Andrea. Welcome aboard, Andrea! Glad to have you join me on this adventure. :D
I thought I would post a little something about the heart writers here...just short little bios. As we add authors, I'll add bios to this list. And I've added a link to the sidebar on the left that will stay up for people to come check out who these crazy people are that write all this stuff anyway.
And speaking of writing stuff...I promise, I'll get something new from me up soon. I have something in the works (as in, sitting in the draft folder of posts) that I'll try to finish in the next day or so.
Oh, and one more thing!! You can now subscribe to the Written Heart blog through e-mail...over in the left sidebar there's a form for you to enter your e-mail address that will get you signed up.
Now for real: introducing the heart writers! :D
Haley
You may call me Haley. OK, I just had throw in a spin off a famous opening sentence. One of my favorite opening sentences, actually. Though I was never real enthralled with the rest of the book. But I digress. :)
I am the blog administrator for Written Heart. I've been "scribbling" in some fashion since I learned the fascinating art of forming words on paper--those old journals and "poems" can be fun to read! (or maybe just plain funny!!) When it comes to writing, my first love is poetry. When it comes to life, my first love is Jesus Christ. I am a 22 year-old homeschool graduate, the second oldest of 6 children, and "babysitter" to a whole bunch of kids...some in the past, some that I currently babysit. My prayer for anything that I write is that others would be blessed, God would be glorified, and that, just maybe, someone would be drawn closer to Him.
Haley's usernames (the names that appear at the bottom of her posts) are Haley(at Written Heart) and RejoicingComet. Her personal blog is Dancing in the Rain.
Andrea
Hi! My name is Andrea. I feel so honored that Haley asked me to be one of her 'Heart Writers'. I am a married mom from Toronto, Canada. I have been married for 10 years and have a wonderful 8 year old son. I have spent most of my youth writing poetry and stories. I have to admit that in the early years writing poetry was just to work out whatever 'catastrophe' I was going through at the time and the stories were just for fun. Now mostly I write to honor God. To sing His prasies. I can truly say 'Oh what a difference since Jesus passed by!' My prayer in writing for Written Heart is that God is honored and pleased with the words as well as giving other people a chance to be inspired and encouraged in any way I can.

Take a Moment
When Life seems to get in the way.
When you’ve wandered and started to stray.
Take a moment to kneel and pray.
Tell the Lord you miss Him.
Ask Him to take your hand.
He will always listen!
He will understand!
When your heart is full of fears.
When you can’t stop the flowing tears.
Take a moment as God draws near.
Tell the Lord your troubled heart.
Ask Him to help this burden bear.
He is there and will never part!
His arms will surround you in his care!
When you’re happy and all is right.
When you’ve come through a long, hard night.
Take a moment to thank God's might.
Thank Him for everything!
Thank Him for all He gives!
Thank Him for the peace He brings!
Praise Him! Our Savior lives!

Chosen
Chosen by the Lord above,
Called to walk into His love;
How could this grace, so rich and free,
Be given to someone like me?
This God is a holy Lord,
It says plainly in His word.
If in His presence there's no sin,
How can I hope to walk with Him?
Now enters the blood of Christ--
God is also love and light!
"Christ died for all!" the Bible shouts.
Can truth pierce through my cloud of doubt?
"Why me?" I wonder often now--
"If God loves me, I'm not sure how;
Why would I be one He chose?
One He died for and then rose?"
Then He whispers sweet and low:
"Just because of love, you know.
It doesn't matter what you do,
I chose you 'cause I wanted to!"
Called to walk into His love;
How could this grace, so rich and free,
Be given to someone like me?

I Will Sing!
In my heart You put a song
And though the night may be so long,
I will sing my song to You, O Lord Most High!
In every circumstance and place,
Through every feeling by Your grace,
I will because of You, Almighty God!
The music ringing in my heart
Is about how great You are--
I will sing about You only, Adonai!
And when my praise is focused true
Others soon will trust in You--
I will sing just for Your glory, God of Love!
Psalm 40:3
"And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD."
And though the night may be so long,
I will sing my song to You, O Lord Most High!
In every circumstance and place,
Through every feeling by Your grace,
I will because of You, Almighty God!

Welcome to Written Heart!
Welcome to the Written Heart blog!
My name is Haley, and I'm the Written Heart administrator. Eventually I want to have several heart writers co-authoring this blog, providing people with fun, interesting, thought-provoking, challenging, encouraging, and always God-glorifying things to read.
What in the world is a heart writer? They are simply people who have a passion for writing from the heart. I firmly believe that only words written from the heart can touch or change a heart. The highest goal any writer can strive for is to impact lives for eternity with the words they pen (or type, in this instance). So the purpose of this blog is two-fold:

The highest goal any writer can strive for is to impact lives for eternity with the words they pen (or type, in this instance). So the purpose of this blog is two-fold:
- to provide a place for Christian writers of all ages from all over the map to share their heart through the written word
- to encourage others in their journey with the King of kings, the Lord Jesus Christ
The heart writers who contibrute to this blog will be very carefully chosen in order to maintain a high standard in every way. If you're interested in becoming one of these special writers, you can e-mail me.
May the Lord bless you richly as you press on in Him, and may the words you read on this blog be glorifying to Him!
